FLUFFY BELGIAN WAFFLES

These Belgian Waffles are seriously the most delicious and fluffy waffles I’ve ever had! With your basic pantry ingredients, you’ll have homemade waffles ready on the breakfast table in no time!

PREP: 5 M • COOK: 3-5 M • YIELDS: 2

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cups milk
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat your waffle iron until it’s ready to use.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients, set aside.
  3. In another small bowl, whisk together the milk and the egg. Then, mix in the melted butter and vanilla.
  4. Make a well in the center of your dry ingredients, pour the wet ingredients in it, and whisk until combined. Do not over mix — batter should be a little lumpy.
  5. Spray your waffle iron with nonstick spray and pour enough batter on the iron to cover it. It’s okay if a little bit of the iron is showing. Close waffle iron and let it cook according to your iron’s instructions or until the ready light turns on! If your waffle iron doesn’t have a ready light, then check on it when it stops steaming!
  6. Top with your favorite fruit, powdered sugar, and whipped cream!
